Coastal childcare and early learning centres among Tasmania’s best

Smithton’s Giggles Early Learning Centre has been named in the top 10 childcare and early learning centres in Tasmania.

The centre has received a rating of 9.4 out of 10, considered excellent, in the latest Kindi Care Quality Index.

The index looks at more than 17,000 early learning and childcare centres nationally, with the Smithton centre listed as 7th in the Tasmanian top 10.

The North-West Coast also has four centres in the top 20 for the state, with the Milpara Outside School Hours Care programme in Burnie ranked 13th, with Discovery Learning Centres in Ulverstone 14th, both being rated at 9.2 out of 10.

Tasmania’s number one centre was the Goodstart Early Learning Centre at Kings Meadows in Launceston, also rated 16th-best nationally, with a score of 9.9 out of 10.

Only two centres nationally received a perfect 10 rating, both based in Queensland.
