Rotted Power Pole Sparks Emergency Works

Around 100 TasNetworks customers are without power this morning, as crews undertake emergency work to repair a rotted pole in Olive street, Burnie.

The outage is likely to keep those affected in the dark for most of the day, However TasNetworks spokesperson Rowan Dix is hopeful crews will be able to wrap up ahead of a 4pm schedule.

A road closure is in place for Olive street as trucks and cranes are brought in, however residents will still have access.
