90’s horror flicks are back baby. Sony released today its first official trailer for sequel/remake ‘I Know What You Did Last Summer’. With the original film releasing in 1997 which starred Sarah Michelle Gellar, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jennifer Love Hewitt, with both Love Hewitt and Prinze Jr making a return for the 2025 sequel. The 2025 adaptation, rather than a group of friends running someone over, instead accidentally cause a car to swerve off road which leads to a disastrous car wreck. A year later the group of five are hunted by a hook waving stalker. The film plays off the events of the original film so calling this a remake isn’t exactly the case as it is instead a direct sequel that just happens to have been made nearly 30-years later.
Wow. The original film was 28 years ago?! Hate that.
The new film stars Madelyn Cline, Chase Sui Wonders, Tyriq Withers, Freddie Prinze Jr., and Jennifer Love Hewitt. Catch I Know What You Did Last Summer when it drops in cinemas on July 17th.
