Taylor Swift has broken her silence on the planned terror attack that was the cause of her Eras Tour shows in Vienna to be cancelled earlier this month. The attacks were thankfully stopped but it was a situation that the singer found disturbing.

Taylor took to social media to reflect on what was a very emotional European leg of the Eras Tour following the final set of shows at Wembley Stadium in London. In the statement on Instagram, she spoke about the three shows that were forced to be cancelled following a foiled planned terror attack at the venue that led to multiple arrests.

“Having our Vienna shows cancelled was devastating,” she said. “The reason for the cancellations filled me with a new sense of fear, and a tremendous amount of guilt because so many people had planned on coming to those shows. But I was also grateful to the authorities because thanks to them, we were grieving concerts and not lives.”

There were amazing scenes in the wake of the cancellations as “Swifties” united, flooding the streets of Vienna to sing and dance.

“I was heartened by the love and unity I saw in the fans who banded together” she said, “My team and I worked hand in hand with stadium staff and British authorities every day in pursuit of that goal, and I want to thank them for everything they did for us.”

Taylor then goes on to thank the other European crowds stating that they were “most passionate crowds I’ve ever played for”.
