The birds are back on the slingshot, but this time the chaos is a little closer to home. The first teaser for The Angry Birds Movie 3 has landed, offering a glimpse at a sequel that leans heavily into family life while keeping the franchise’s trademark antics intact.

Rather than simply revisiting the ongoing clash between birds and pigs, the new film appears to push its lead character into unfamiliar territory. Red, once defined by his temper, is now dealing with raising a family, balancing the responsibilities of fatherhood with the usual world-saving mayhem.

The teaser highlights this shift in tone, with Red caring for multiple children while trying to maintain some sense of order. His friends Chuck and Bomb are back to help, suggesting the same comedic dynamic that drove the previous films, although the stakes now feel more personal than ever.

Returning voice stars include Jason Sudeikis, Josh Gad, Danny McBride and Rachel Bloom, while the cast also expands with a stacked mix of newcomers such as Emma Myers, Walker Scobell and Keke Palmer. The eclectic voice lineup even includes major online personalities, signalling a clear attempt to broaden the film’s appeal to younger audiences.

Plot details remain relatively under wraps, though the official synopsis hints at Red facing his “greatest challenge yet”, surviving fatherhood while saving the world. That balance between domestic comedy and large-scale adventure appears to be the key hook for this third instalment.

The Angry Birds film series has already proven itself at the box office, with the first two entries collectively pulling in over $500 million globally, and the new release marks a fresh chapter under Paramount after earlier films were distributed by Sony.

The Angry Birds Movie 3 is currently set to land in cinemas on 23 December 2026, positioning it as a major family release in the Christmas window.
