Harry Styles recently shared how difficult it was to launch his solo career after One Direction went on hiatus, admitting that performing alone for the first time felt unfamiliar and intimidating, and that even small things like how to move on stage felt awkward after years of sharing the spotlight with his bandmates.
Feeling the Pressure
Beyond performing, creating music on his own brought a new level of pressure, as Styles said he felt very alone while working on his early solo material, with every creative decision resting on his shoulders, and although he was grateful for fans’ excitement, he still felt the weight of expectations and wanted to make music that felt honest and true to him while honoring their longtime support.

Finding His Identity
As he developed his sound, Styles focused on defining himself as an individual artist. Now, with his fourth studio album, Kiss All The Time. Disco, occasionally, on the way, he seems more confident and secure in his creative direction.
