Virgin Voyages’ newest ship, the Resilient Lady will be a regular visitor to Burnie and Hobart for the foreseeable future.

The ship, which can carry 2700 passengers and 1160 crew, made its maiden visit to Tasmania last week, calling in in Hobart and Burnie, with nine more visits planned this season.

Virgin Voyages has announced the ship has been locked in for the next two seasons and possibly beyond, based in Melbourne and cruising to Tasmania, New Zealand, and the East Coast of Australia.

Resilient Lady general manager Andrew Eglin says says the response to cruises since the ship arrived in Australian waters last month has been factastic.

The vessel will return to the Mediterranean Sea for the Northern Hemisphere cruise season before coming back to Australia for the next few summers at least.
