Tasmania Police have slammed the actions of three drivers in the state’s north.
Launceston officers have charged three men with high range drink driving offences in a 15-minute period earlier this week.
On Wednesday night, a 30-year-old Launceston man was intercepted on Wellington Street, Launceston.
It’s alleged he returned a breath analysis reading of 0.18%.
The driver has since been charged with high range drink driving, and driving at night without headlights.
Shortly after, patrols stopped a 44-year-old South Launceston man on the Midland Highway (Southern Outlet).
It’s alleged this man returned a breath analysis reading of 0.16%, he has also been charged with high range drink driving.
Both men were immediately disqualified from driving and will face court in relation to exceeding the prescribed alcohol limit and driving under the influence of alcohol.
They are due to appear in the Launceston Magistrates Court on 24 August.
One the same night, a 21-year-old Hobart man was found at the Country Club Villas, after crashing into a parked car and bollards.
Police say the provisional driver returned a breath analysis reading of 0.19%.
The motorist has been disqualified from driving for 12 months, and will face the Hobart Magistrates Court at a later date.
Sergeant Josh Hayes has called the behaviour unacceptable.
“Never drive after drinking– you’ll be putting more than your own life on the line,” Sergeant Hayes said.
Dangerous driving should be reported immediately to police on 131 444.
If matters can’t be reported at the time, but there’s video evidence the footage should be submitted to the online portal.
