The North-West Coast and the North of the state will play host to some of Australia’s and the world’s emerging tennis talent in a series of tournaments over the next few weeks.

The action is already underway in the Burnie Junior International, which started on Tuesday, with the Launceston Junior International to follow next week.

The focus will return to the North-West Coast from February 10th, for the $20,000 Tasmanian Tennis Championships in Devonport, with the Burnie International a week later.

Six Tasmanians are competing in both the Burnie and Launcestion Junior Internationals, including Burnie’s Balin Russell and Paige Jacobson.

Russell will play fellow Aussie Abbas Rezale in the first round, while Jacobson drew a bye in the first round and will play Japan’s Wada Nayano in round two.
