Grace Tame says she’s dealing with threats and harassment from her childhood abuser.
The 2021 Australian of the Year has revealed Twitter posts apparently from disgraced teacher Nicholas Ockert Bester who abused her at a Hobart school as a 15-year-old.
Ms Tame says she’s contacted police over what she believes is a threat planned for the day she releases her book.
The Bester Twitter account has since been suspended.
While it’s been a largely positive experience in the public eye, and I’m eternally grateful for the unflinching support, it might come as a shock, even to some close to me, that I am still dealing with open threats and harassment from the man who abused me and others. pic.twitter.com/vlPC1tF5zt
