Rockliff under siege

The Premier has served up his own barrage back at the opposition who moved a no confidence motion in his leadership of the state.

He is to survive the attack thanks to his former Liberal colleagues John Tucker and Lara Alexander agreeing to support him as independents.

Jeremy Rockliff has recounted his government’s achievements while roasting the Labor Party.

“If you are serious about the government benches and leading this state, you’ve got to step up with a plan for Tasmanians and not come in here and squib every single day.”

Speaking on the motion, Greens leader Cassy O’Connor let rip on the AFL stadium deal for Hobart.

“These people to my left (Liberal MPs) strutting around with the likes of Gill McLachlan and saying here you will have a billion dollar stadium at Macquarie Point, here we’ve sold this island out, here your grandchildren will pay this debt.”
