“Rocket Park” returned to former glory

A much-loved Coastal family attraction will be fully re-opened soon.

The Central Coast Council was forced to close some play equipment at Ulverstone’s ANZAC Park, commonly known as the Rocket Park, late last year due to vandalism.

Central Coast Mayor Cheryl Fuller says the vandalism alone cost $42,000 to repair, but there’s been added costs due to fencing to ensure the damaged equipment couldn’t be accessed by children and increased security and surveillance measures.

Councillor Fuller says installation of a new climbing net started on Friday and work on the soft pad area and the bottom of the launch pad slide is nearing completion, with both expected to be re-opened this week.
