Devonport has been revealed as one of Tasmania’s top 10 car-theft hot-spots.
A report, issued by car-tracker manufacturer Solid GPS says 60 cars were stolen in Devonport last year – eight more than the previous yeat, making it the sixth most likely centre in the state in which to have a car stolen.
Launceston topped the list, with 246 cars stolen last year.
Glenorchy was next with 235, Hobart with 207 and Clarence with 219, effectively meaning 661 for the Greater Hobart area.
Devonport was the only Coastal centre in the top 10.
Car theft numbers in Burnie appear to have gone down after the city was ranked sixth in 2022, with 53 cars stolen, but dropped out of the top 10 last year.
