The wheelie bin police will be on the prowl across the North-West Coast in coming months.

North West Resource Recovery and Recycling will be inspecting bins to ensure they are being filled correctly with the right items.

Central Coast has had FOGO since 2019 and Burnie and Circular Head are yet to introduce the service.

Incorrectly filled bins will be stickered with a reminder to do the right thing, with repeat offences possibly leading to collections being ceased or bins confiscated.

North West Resource Recovery and Recycling is reminding residents new to FOGO that pet droppings and kitty litter, tea bags, coffee bags and filters, and bin liners should go in general waste bins for landfill.
