Clarence City Council is calling on the community to call out hoons and report dangerous and reckless driving.
Mayor Brendan Blomeley and Clarence Divisonal Inspector Brett Barry launcing the ‘Dob in a Hoon’ campaign at Rosny Bus Mall in the lead up to National Road Safety Week which runs from 14 to 21 May.
National Road Safety Week is an annual initiative that highlights the impact of road trauma, and ways to reduce it.
“Together, we can make our community safer and more enjoyable for everyone,” said Mr Blomeley.
Although hooning, street racing, burnouts and other dangerous driving behaviours are a concern for Clarence, these are issues that are not “unique” across the State.
“We want to ensure all our residents, visitors and workers are safe on our roads.”
