The Burnie City Council is seeking community feedback on its draft annual plan and budget estimates.

The council has already approved a rates rise of 7.66 per cent, which hasn’t gone down well with some residents.

A series of three pop-up information sessions will be held this week for locals to hear about the plan in detail and ask questions.

Burnie Mayor Teeny Brumby says feedback will be considered before determining the final budget, which will be tabled at the council’s monthly meeting on June 25th.

The first session will be at the Beach Hotel tomorrow afternoon from 12-1.30 pm.

Two more sessions will follow on Thursday at the Burnie Community House at Shorewell from 11.30 am to 1 pm and at the Upper Burnie Memorial Hall from 5.30 to 7pm.

The council will also host an on-line webinar on May 21st, as well as Q and A sessions on its Facebook page.
