22 new Tasmania Police constables will commence duties across the state from today after graduating from the Tasmania Police Academy last week.
The 12 men and 10 women will be deployed to stations in Devonport and Burnie, which will receive seven new graduates, as well as Launceston, and Glenorchy and Bellerive in the South.
The new recruits will bring Tasmania Police to record numbers, which will increase again with six more new recruit courses planned for this year.
One of the new recruit courses will be held at the Northern campus of the academy, with applicants from the North and North-West of the state encouraged to sign up.
