New firies for the Coasta

Nine new career firefighters have started duty on the North-West Coast.

The seven man and two women are working with Devonport and Burnie Fire Brigades after completing 15 weeks of intensive training at the Tasmania Fire Service Training Facility at Cambridge.

Emergency Services Minister and Braddon MP Felix Ellis says the latest recruits fulfil a promise the State Government made to increase coverage on the North West Coast.

Mr Ellis says, importantly, the new recruits are all North-west Coasters.
