The National Party will run candidates in next month’s state election in three of the five electorates.

The party has called for candidate nominations, despite the election only being a little over a month away, to run in the non-Southern electorates of Braddon, Lyons and Bass.

Tasmanian Nationals chair Pip Allwright said the party will provide a stronger voice for all Tasmanians who live outside of Hobart.

Mr Allwright says The Nationals have a long proud history of standing up for local communities and will be the strongest alternative to the major parties.

Nationals Senate Leader Bridget McKenzie says many Tasmanians feel left behind by both Labor and Liberals, and The Nationals want to offer a genuine alternative.

She says Tasmania deserves better services, health and education, housing solutions, and The Nationals will support our key industries and the jobs that go with them.
