The Burnie Surf Life Saving Club’s Luke O’Garey has received a major award honouring his dedicated volunteering over 40 years with surf lifesaving in Tasmania.
Mr. O’Garey has been named Surf Life Saving Australia’s DHL Volunteer of the Year.
He’s held numerous roles over the years, Club Captain, Patrol Captain, Club Coach, State Surf Coach and Nipper Coach, to name just a few.

The award recognises Mr. O Garey’s exceptional leadership, mentorship, and commitment to surf lifesaving and the positive impact his volunteering has had on the community.
