Police have yet to rule out foul play as the cause of death to a man in his 60s found by the side of the road on Pardoe Road near the Devonport Airport in the early hours of Sunday morning.

A forensic investigation is underway and the deceased man’s body has been taken to Hobart for a post mortem examination.
Police say the man has received what appears to be blunt force trauma to his head and have taken another man into custody, who is assisting with the investigation.

A vehicle stolen from a transport business a few kilometres away on Port Sorell Main Road was located less than a kilometre from the scene and police believe the burglary is linked to the incident.
Acting Inspector Tony Stewart says the investigation is a difficult one and is appealing from anyone who may have been in the area between 4 00 a.m. and 6.00 a.m. on Sunday morning to contact police.
