The State Government has unveiled six new social housing unite in Burnie which have been built using modules produced in the South of the state by Podmatrix.
The six units are among more than 200 modular homes planned around the state over the next four years.
Premier Jeremy Rockliff says the Government needs to think outside the square if it is going to make an impact on the housing crisis.
Mr Rockliff says modular technology allows homes to be constructed quicker and cheaper.
Meanwhile, Housing Minister and Braddon MP Felix Ellis has met with Australian 3D printing companies to discuss opportunities to use the technology in speeding up housing construction.
