There has been a gathering at Midway Point east of Hobart to mark the completion of its Intersection Solution.
It is a part of $350 million South East Traffic project involving the duplication of the Tasman Highway to four lanes between Sorell and Hobart.
Infrastructure Minister Michael Ferguson noting a little flourish in the work at Midway Point.
“I dare say you won’t have noticed the cutaway as you came through Midway Point if you were travelling here from Hobart with the beautiful stoney cutting that was cut through there, in fact that’s not a stoney cutting at all, it is a concrete relief, an artist has worked on that to replicate the natural environment so that it is very nice to the eye.”
