Two men are missing on a remote range 200 kilometres from Hobart.
The Westpac Rescue helicopter is in the skies above the Loddon Range in the state’s southwest after two men in the 60s activated a personal locator beacon on Monday night.
Ground crews were dispatched to the area but a swollen river was unsafe to cross.

Personnel made it across on Tuesday morning and are continuing the search with the chopper overhead.
Wet and chilly conditions in the area are forecast to continue until at least Sunday.
