Latest Coastal Pathway section opened

The Don to Leith segment of the Coastal Pathway project has been officially opened.

The $14 million extension includes a bypass under both the Bass Highway at Don Heads and also a rail underpass.

It’s been funded by the Devonport and Central Coast Councils in partnership with the Federal Government.

Coastal-based Tasmanian Senator Anne Urquhart says she’ll continue to lobby the Federal Government to assist with the next stages from Ulverstone to Penguin and from Howth to Burnie.

Federal Braddon MP Gavin Pearce says the Federal Government’s contribution to the latest section of the pathway was a 2019 election promise from the previous Liberal Government and he’s pleased to see it delivered.
