Coastal berry producer Costa is starting to ramp up production as the busy harvest season approaches.
During the height of the season in January and February, Costa employs around 2000 people at its three Coastal operations.
Costa grows blueberries at Sulphur Creek, strawberries at East Devonport, and raspberries at Wesley Vale, as well as a distribution centre at East Devonport.
A large component of its summer workforce are backpackers, or working holiday makers, and seasonal migrant workers from Pacific island nations under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) scheme.
However, Costa says it’s also got lots of jobs for locals, both long and short-term, in its picking, packing, and transport and logistics operations.
