Whether we have a state election this year or next, the next Tasmanian Parliament will be a stronger one with more independents holding seats, according to the Voices of Tasmania lobby group.
Voices of Tasmania is a non-partisan, not for profit group working towards more independents in Parliament who are community focused.
Voices convener Michael Roberts says with speculation over a looming state election, now is the time for people to stand as independents in Braddon and the other four electorates, especially with the Lower House to expand from 25 seats to 35.

Mr Roberts says there’s golden opportunity for independents to gain a seat and have a say as disillusionment with major parties continues to grow.
