All Coastal football competitions will be back in full swing from this weekend with the start of the NWFL Premier League competition.

Reigning premier Devonport travels to West Park to take on the Burnie Dockers, while Latrobe is at home against Ulverstone and Penguin hosts Wynyard.

The match between the Circular Head Saints and East Devonport will hold much interest, with both teams looking for their first win at senior level for several years.

East is returning to the senior men’s competition after a withdrawing in 2021, while Circular Head hasn’t won a game for the past three years, after rejoining the competition in 2022 after also going into recess in 2019.

The NWFL women’s competition started last week, with games this weekend at Ulverstone and Penguin.

Meanwhile, it’s round two for the Burnie-based Darwin Football Association, with South Burnie hosting Yolla under lights on Friday night at Wivenhoe tonight, followed by matches at Ridgley and Somerset tomorrow.

The NWFA will complete round one tomorrow after a stand-alone game between Wesley Vale and Sheffield last week, with a match between Spreyton and Motton-Preston under lights on Friday night at Maidstone Park, followed with games tomorrow at East Ulverstone and Rosebery.
