The first international cruise ship of the season will dock in Burnie on Thursday.

The Pacific Explorer, with 1,998 passengers and 924 crew is due to drop anchor around 7.30 am and will be the first of 39 ships to visit Burnie between now and the end of March.

Coastal tourist operators and retailers won’t have to wait long for the next cruise ship to call in, with Virgin Cruises’ newest ship, the spectacular and much talked-about Resilient Lady, which was only launched in May, due to visit Burnie on Friday, with 2700 passengers and 1160 crew on board.
