Finalists announced for LIFE Awards

North-West Councils, sports clubs, organisations and individuals have been named as finalists in the Tasmanian Suicide Prevention Community Network’s Life Awards.

The awards recognise work in suicide prevention and awareness across five categories statewide.

The Devonport City Council has been nominated in the communities in action for suicide prevention category, along with the North-West Community Owned Response to Eliminating Suicide, better known by its acronym of CORES.

The Penguin Community Op Shop and the Ulverstone Football Club have also been named finalists in the same category.

Meanwhile, Latrobe’s Arabella Gillies has been nominated in the outstanding contribution to suicide prevention by a young person for her work in hosting gala balls to create awareness and raise funds for suicide prevention.

Kentish Regional Health CEO Sharon Corvinus-Jones is also in the running for the outstanding contribution to suicide prevention category.
