Entries are now open for one of Tasmania’s much sought after prize.
Tidal 24, sponsored by the Devonport City Council and Friends of the Devonport Regional Gallery, carries a $20,000 first prize, plus a $1500 people’s choice award.
Tidal is only held every two years and is open to all Tasmanian artists, or artists with a strong Tasmanian connection.
Devonport Regional Gallery manager Geoff Dobson says the tidal theme is mainly related to the relationship between the North-West Coast and its rivers and seas, but can be interpreted many different ways.
Entries close on September 22.
The announcement of the winner and exhibition opening will be on December 6th, with the exhibition running though until February 8th.
