In the lead up to Dark Mofo, a temporary structure was damaged on Wednesday afternoon after strong gusts of wind were experienced on the Dark Park site at Macquarie Point.
The construction site had been evacuated in accordance with risk management plans and no injuries were sustained.
As a precaution an exclusion zone was established in the car park area limiting entry for a short period.
WorkSafe and emergency services were notified and attended the site. The site was made safe on the day of the incident.
DarkLab and Macquarie Point working with specialist services to ensure the site can be cleared as soon as possible.
No further disruptions to the car park or other public open areas are expected.
At this stage Dark Park is proceeding and any venue change will be communicated to the public prior to the festival’s commencement.
DarkLab has evacuation plans across all festival sites which ensures the safety of staff and patrons.
