The Burnie City Council is seeking public feedback on its initial draft Burnie City Centre Urban Plan.

The initial draft was developed following community consultation last year on what people love about the city, what they would like to see improved, and their vision for the future.

The full 152-page document, available on the council website or in hard copy at the council chambers, provides broad-ranging ideas and concepts.

The council has also prepared a briefer 30-page summarised version of the document.

There’s also links to the draft and a video on the council’s YouTube channel as well as links on its Facebook page.

Burnie Mayor Teeny Brumby says a final draft of the plan is expected to go to the council next year with work expected to start in the current financial year.

The council has already received $17.3 million from the State Government to start implementing the plan once it’s finalised.
