A Coastal poultry business has been absorbed into an even bigger one.
Sisters Creek-based Redbank Poultry Hatchery has been acquired by Sassafras-bases Nichols Poultry, for the not so paltry sum of $2.35 million.
Nichols is in turn owned by TasFoods, which recently sold Betta Milk and the Meander Valley Dairy to mainland-based Bega Cheese Limited for $11 million

Acquiring Redbank is seen as a logical move for TasFoods, as Nichols Poultry is Redbank’s sole customer.
It means the company will now have complete control over its poultry business from hatching to dispatching.
