Three councils in the Braddon electorate have been granted funds from the State Government to help their local residents to become more active.

Funding from round two of the Government’s Open Spaces Grants Programme has allocated $2.1 million to nine council for various projects, including the Burnie, Waratah-Wynyard and West Coast Councils.

Burnie will receive funding to develop a community park and playground at Shorewell, Waratah-Wynyard will use its grant to establish a dementia friendly garden on the East Wynyard foreshore, and the West Coast Council will receive funding for upgrades to the Queenstown swimming pool and bicycle pump track.
