Transport Minister Eric Abetz says the successful projects will enhance accessibility, ease of use and safety for cyclists and other active transport users and help people make the choice to leave the car at home for their daily travel needs.

Funds allocated in the latest round of grants include $610,000 to the Devonport City Council to improve bike lane safety in Wright Street, East Devonport, $280,000 for the Central Coast Council towards planning for the Ulverstone to Penguin section of the shared Coastal Pathway, and $280,000 for the Burnie City Council to develop a Burnie Active Transport Strategy.
