Christmas festivities in full swing

The festive season ramps up across the North-West Coast tonight with Christmas parades in both Devonport and Burnie on Friday.

The Devonport parade will start at 6.30, leaving from the Byard Park carpark and heading down Clements St, Bluff Road, Victoria Parade and James Street.

Meanwhile, the Burnie parade will start at 6 pm with Christmas floats, live music and a visit from Santa, with the parade encompassing Catley Street, Mount Street, North Terrace and Wilson Street.

Devonport’s Christmas Carols event will be held on Sunday evening at the Living City Waterfront Park from 7pm with entry by a gold coin donation, while the Port Sorell carols event at the Banksia Centre, also on Sunday, will kick off with a free community barbecue at 5 pm.
