North-West Coasters are being reminded to conserve water and minimise usage during the summer months, even though there’s no restrictions in place.
TasWater says none of it’s systems are being considered for restrictions, but its water security committee is monitoring schemes on the East Coast and on Flinders Island, where storage levels are lower than anticipated.
TasWater acting general manager for customers and community, Callan Paske says is enough people take small actions to conserve water, the savings can be significant, such as shorter showers, not leaving the tap running when you’re brushing your teeth, and using the half-flush on the toilet.
