Independent Braddon MP Miriam Beswick is urging the State Government to include more than half a million dollars in essential funding for Coastal icon Camp Clayton in the upcoming State Budget.
The facility, near Ulverstone, has been operating for 75 years, making a positive impact on the lives of young North-West Coasters by enhancing health and well-being, while teaching live skills and knowledge.
Mrs Beswick says the facility, which she believes has never received State Government funding, needs around $540,000 for vital upgrades, as well as increased running costs, including a huge spike in liability insurance premiums.
