National on-line betting agency Sportsbet has installed Liberal newcomer Mal Hingston as favourite to retain the seat of Braddon for the Federal Coalition.
Mr Hingston is making his maiden political bid for the seat currently held by Gavin Pearce, who has resigned, leaving the seat vacant.
Sportsbet has listed Mr Hingston $1.17 favourite to defeat veteran Labor candidate and former Senator Anne Urquhart, who has been quoted at $4.25 chance to win the seat.
Meanwhile, former Tasmanian opposition leader Rebecca White is a narrow favourite to retain the seat currently held by Labor, with sitting member Brian Mitchell retiring.
Ms White has been quoted at $1.72 to win the seat with Liberal opponent Susie Bower at $1.97 in a predicted close battle.
And as always, if you’re having a bet on the election, make sure you gamble responsibly.
