The winner of the prestigious Burnie Print Prize will be known in a little over a week.
The prize pool of $23,000 includes $17,000 for the winner and also includes prizes for an emerging artist and people’s choice.
The winner will be announced next Friday night.
However, with redevelopment building works underway at the Burnie Arts Centre and Burnie Regional Art Gallery, the announcement will be made at The Bridge, on Wilmot Street from 5.30 pm.
Meanwhile, the Central Coast Council is planning to launch a new art prize, to be featured at its arts and cultural centre, Hive.
The council has hosted Art-Ex for the past 30 years, but is now looking to chance its major annual arts event, launching a community survey on ideas how to best shape the prize.
The survey closes on March 23, and can be accessed on the council’s Facebook page.
