Another medical episode has seen paramedics treat former Launceston General Hospital CEO Dr Stephen Ayre at the Commission of Inquiry in Hobart.

“I am suggesting that you did not provide complete and accurate evidence to this Commission the last time you appeared before it, can I ask for your response to that proposition.”

Dr Ayre responded that he provided the information that he had at that time.

The Commission of Inquiry is also further exploring the case of Zoe Duncan who was 11 in 2001 and at the centre of an abuse complaint of a Launceston General Hospital doctor.

Zoe, who suffered anxiety and died in 2017 from epilepsy complications, later told her parents the doctor had raped her.

The hospital’s Executive Director of Medical Services, Dr Peter Renshaw has been quizzed about the doctor continuing to have access to children at the hospital.
