Investigations are underway after a horror crash in Tasmania’s north.
Emergency services were called to the Midlands Highway at Launceston at around 7:25pm last night, following a single vehicle crash.
The incident involved a Hadspen resident, driving an orange Holden Commodore sedan.
The 22-year-old woman was pulled from the car, but unfortunately died a short time later at the Launceston General Hospital as a result of her injuries.
Initial enquiries indicate that the speed may have been a contributing factor.
Officers are looking for anyone who witnessed the crash, or who saw an Orange Holden Commodore Sedan driving in the Launceston CBD prior to the crash to come forward and call Crimestoppers on 1800 333 000.
