Songs of Justice and Joy
On Sunday 1st September there’ll be an interesting musical event
happening in Wynyard. This will be the first concert to be held in the
beautiful new space ‘The Nest’ at Live Well Tasmania, when three northern
Tasmanian singer-songwriters get together to perform “Songs of Justice
and Joy”. Rose Turtle Ertler, Chris O, and Rosie Haden are professional musicians
who share a love community-building, the natural environment, and social
justice. You’ll hear contemporary songs of lutruwita/Tasmania, as well as
a few older favourites, on guitars, ukes, banjo and shruti box.
Rosie Haden’s pathos driven, dark bluesy melodic tales are inspired by
TV noir, poets of old and observations on modern life.

Rose Turtle Ertler’s original songs can be described as wonky folk and
precarious pop – thoughtfully constructed songs played on piano and
baritone ukulele often inspired by her various strands of
activism. www.roseturtleertler.com
Chris O is a singer-songwriter penning originals and playing vintage
music, the way it used to be, drawing on a lifetime of encounters with
places, and people, echoing global grassroots
traditions. www.chrisokunbor.net
