Monthly Mix: Social Shuffle Launch
Looking to meet new people but not sure where to start?
Monthly Mix: Social Shuffle is a relaxed, welcoming community event held on the third Saturday of every month.
Created by young people from the ABC Haywire Takeover 2025 in partnership with THEIRS, a youth led mental health and suicide prevention group, this event came about after hearing just how many people are feeling isolated or unsure how to build new connections.
Social Shuffle takes the pressure out of socialising, with light, guided activities that help spark conversations naturally, no awkward introductions needed. Come on your own or bring a friend, everyone is there for the same reason.
It’s all about having a yarn, meeting new people, and leaving feeling a little more connected.
Monthly Mix will be held at Burnie City Church Community Café space, with the exception of our first event, which will take place at Metro Cinemas for a free screening of Hoopers. There is a maximum of four tickets per transaction, with 40 tickets reserved for those aged 65 and over. Each free ticket includes a small combo of popcorn and a drink. Once capacity is reached, additional tickets will be available to purchase. Parent supervision is required.
