Meeting and Public Talk of the Burnie Historical Society
This month’s Burnie Historical Society’s General Meeting and Public Talk, is on Thursday the 19th of March 2026, at 7.30pm on the first floor of the Burnie Library, Access is via the rear off Little Alexander Street.
Our speakers this month, are Lyndal Thorne and Heather Wild. Together over a two-year period, Heather and Lyndal created ‘Burnie Creatives’ and next week they will share this journey with us.
Their book brings together thousands of shared stories and images, capturing not only individual journeys but also the collective spirit that defines Burnie’s cultural life.
Alongside the profiles, the book traces the Burnie Arts Council’s rich history, honouring its decades-long role in nurturing creativity across North-West Tasmania.
