Slid right into her dm’s.
Well, not exactly actually. Back in 1998 actress Emma Thompson was in the process of divorcing fellow actor and director Kenneth Branagh. The pair got married back in August of 1989, and after discovering Branagh had an affair with Helena Bonham Carter the pair split. After a lengthy process the pair finalised their divorce in 1998.
Emma Thompson recently disclosed that a high profile celebrity called her the very day her divorce was finalised asking her for a date. Thompson received the phone call to her private number whilst filming Primary Colours with John Travolta. Taking the call in her trailer she thought at first the call was a prank and couldn’t possibly be real, but alas, she soon realised the offer and the person on other end was the real deal. Yep, it was none other than current U.S President Donald Trump. You can read Thompsons on recounting of the phone call below!
“I was in my trailer one day while we were making that movie, and the phone rang, and it was Donald Trump,… I didn’t know the number of the phone. No one had rung me on it before, and I said, ‘Hello.’. ‘Hi, this is Donald Trump here’, and I thought it was a joke. And then I said, ‘How can I help you?’, thinking maybe he needed directions. Then he said: ‘I’d love you to come and stay at one of my beautiful places. Maybe we could have dinner’. I said: ‘Well, that’s very sweet. Thank you so much. I’ll get back to you’.”
The Home Alone 2 star had also recently just divorced his second wife, Marla Maples.
“I could have gone on a date with Donald Trump, and then I would have a story to tell… I could have changed the course of American history.”
