Queenstown has the cheapest petrol in Tasmania, according to the State Government’s Fuel Check Tas app and website.
Ampol Queenstown is selling a litre of standard 91 unleaded for 179.9 cents – well below the state average of 189.5.
The price of fuel in Tasmania has risen by five cents a litre on average in the past month.
Last year the average was as high as 205.1 in April and as low as 179.5 in October.
On the North West Coast, United William Street in Devonport has the cheapest petrol at 181.5 cents a litre.
Burnie’s best is at Camdale United at 181.9 cents, with the best in the Central Coast area at United Ulverstone, selling for 186.9.
Coastal prices are currently a cent a litre dearer on average than in Launceston and Hobart according to the Fuel Check Tas app and website.
