Regional Express Airlines, better known as Rex, is no closer to overcoming financial difficulties which saw the regional carrier go into voluntary administration in July.
At the time, Rex grounded all capital city jet services after it was revealed it was losing $1 million a week.
However, regional flights, which include services to and from Devonport, Burnie and King Island have continued.
In August, the administrator was given an extension until November 25 to find a buyer for the troubled airline, but industry sources are now saying there’s been little or no interest from potential buyers.
The Federal Government has pulled short of a bailout, but has guaranteed passengers buying tickets on Rex regional flights, it will cover refunds if the service is cancelled.
