Elizabeth Town-based dairy producer Ashgrove will launch the world’s first climate-friendly milk today.
Ashgrove Eco-Milk comes from cows with 25 per cent less methane emissions, making a significant step towards sustainable dairy production.
Ashgrove has partnered with East Coast company Sea Forest, feeding cows a dietary supplement called See Feed, made from native red seaweed.

The feed has the potential to halve the amount of methane emitted by cows.
Ashgrove says its eco-milk retains all the nutritional benefits of full cream milk while significantly reducing environmental impact.
